Google Calendar

Two-way sync between a professional's Google Calendar and GetUp Bookings — new bookings push as calendar events immediately, and existing calendar events block the matching slots (synced once daily) so customers don't book on top of a personal commitment.

Region

Global.

What it does

  • Per professional — each professional connects their ownGoogle account; calendars don't cross-contaminate. The connection lives on the professional record, not the company.
  • Outbound (immediate)— a new booking pushes to the professional's calendar as soon as the customer books; a reschedule updates the same event, and a cancellation removes it.
  • Inbound (daily)— a background sweep runs once a day, reads the professional's upcoming Google events, and writes them into GetUp as time-off blocks so customers don't book on top of a personal commitment. This isn't instant — an event added to Google mid-day is picked up on the next sweep, not within the hour.

How to connect

  1. Open Professionals, click the professional to edit them, and use the Connect with Google button in the Google Calendar section of the edit screen.
  2. Sign in to the Google account whose calendar should sync, and grant calendar access.
  3. On callback, GetUp stores the encrypted refresh token; the first inbound sync happens on the next daily sweep.

Data direction

Two-way — outbound (bookings → Google) is immediate; inbound (Google → GetUp time-off) runs once daily.

Disconnect

Open the professional's edit screen and click Disconnect in the Google Calendar section. The OAuth grant is revoked on Google's side; future bookings stop pushing as events. Past events already created stay on the calendar.
