What it does
- Answers from live data: revenue, expenses, payroll, shifts, leave, invoices, stock, cash flow, targets, reservations, POS sales and card-terminal payments, read when Claude asks, not from a copy.
- Same numbers as GetUp: figures come from GetUp's own calculators, together with the formula behind them, so Claude quotes what GetUp computed.
- You choose what it may do: when you connect, pick Read only, Suggest changes or Make changes. See Access levels.
- One business per connection: the business account that signs in is the only one the connection can read. Claude can't switch it.
How to connect
- In Claude, open Customize > Connectors, choose + Add, then Add custom connector. On a Team or Enterprise plan an Owner does this under Organization settings > Connectors, and each member then connects.
- Enter the connector URL
https://getup.dev/mcpand keep the suggested sign-in settings. - Claude opens GetUp. Sign in with the business account (staff, accountant and tablet accounts can't connect apps), pick what Claude may do and choose Allow access.
- Back in Claude, ask something like “How did revenue this week compare with last week?” or “How many reservations do we have tonight?”
The same URL works in Claude on the web, in the desktop and mobile apps, and in Claude Code. The connector settings live in Integrations, where the address can be copied.
Access levels
GetUp asks which level to give Claude when you connect it. The changes it covers are new brands, locations and employees, changes to an employee or removing one, approving or rejecting leave requests, marking an invoice paid, shift assignments, shopping list items, catalog products and targets.
- Read only: Claude reads your data and answers questions. It changes nothing.
- Suggest changes: Claude can propose changes, and each one waits for your approval in GetUp. This is the level GetUp selects first.
- Make changes: a change happens as soon as Claude makes it, and is logged with the app's name. Claude asks before it uses a connector tool unless you've set that tool to always be allowed; in Research it may use tools without asking.
At every level, erasing an employee's personal data waits for your approval in GetUp, because it can't be undone. To change the level, disconnect Claude under Integrations and connect it again.
Approving changes
With Suggest changes, and for erasing personal data at any level, a change does nothing on its own:
- Claude gives you a link to the change in GetUp. Everything waiting is also listed in Integrations, under Waiting for your approval.
- The link opens the change written out in full, with names instead of ids. Sign in with the business account if you aren't already.
- Approve and make the change makes it at once, through the same steps as GetUp's own assistant, and records it in the activity log. Reject changes nothing. Claude can check which you chose.
A suggestion nobody decides on closes after 7 days, and at most 50 can wait at a time. Erasing an employee's personal data can't be undone, and the change says so before you approve it.
Security
- OAuth 2.1 with PKCE: Claude never sees your password. It receives an access key that lasts an hour and a refresh key that is replaced every time it's used. A replaced key that shows up again disconnects the app, since only a copied key could do that.
- Keys are stored hashed: GetUp keeps only a SHA-256 digest of each key, like password-reset links.
- A new password ends connections: changing or resetting the business password disconnects every app. Signing out of GetUp doesn't: a connection lasts until you end it.
- Limits and logs: each connection can make 120 requests and 30 changes a minute. Every read and every change, suggested or made, is written to the business's activity log with the app's name, and so is your decision.
Disconnect
Open Integrations, find the app under Connected apps and choose Disconnect. Access ends immediately, and the changes it suggested that are still waiting are withdrawn. Removing the connector in Claude only removes it on Claude's side, so disconnect it here as well.
