Turn timesheets into payroll without re-typing a single hour.
The gap between “hours worked” and “amount paid” is where errors and arguments live: a clock app on one side, a spreadsheet in the middle, payroll on the other. GetUp closes it. The same times staff punch at the door become the hours payroll runs on — across every company and location, with nothing re-keyed by hand.
- Hourly pay is computed from real clock-in times, not estimates
- Works across multiple companies and locations in one run
- Clean exports your external accountant can drop straight in
The problem
What this fixes
Where manual timesheet-to-payroll breaks, and what replaces it.
Without GetUp
Someone copies hours from the clock into a spreadsheet, rounds a few, fat-fingers one, and payroll is wrong before it starts.
With GetUp
Payroll reads the approved clock times directly. The hours that get paid are the hours that were worked.
Without GetUp
Three companies and four locations mean three or four payroll passes, each in its own file.
With GetUp
One run spans every entity and site, with each person's hours attributed to where they actually worked.
Without GetUp
Your accountant gets a different layout every month and rebuilds it by hand.
With GetUp
A consistent export, the same shape each period, scoped to exactly what they need.
How it works
From setup to running it
From clock-in to a payroll export your accountant can use, in five steps.
- 01
Capture real hours at the door
Staff clock in and out on the tablet at each location. Those times — not rounded guesses — are what payroll will later read.
- 02
Review and approve timesheets
Hours roll up per person and per location. Approve them, fixing any flagged missed punches first, so payroll starts from clean data.
- 03
Apply pay rates and rules
Each person's rate, plus overtime and break rules, are already on their record. Payroll applies them automatically as it totals the period.
- 04
Run pay across every company and site
One run covers all your entities and locations, attributing each person's hours to where they worked — no per-company spreadsheet juggling.
- 05
Export for your accountant
Produce a consistent export in the same shape every period and share it — or give your accountant scoped access to pull it themselves.
Outcomes
What changes
What an automatic timesheet-to-payroll path is worth.
Hours re-typed
No copy-paste between the clock and a spreadsheet means the most common payroll error simply can't happen.
Run for everything
Every company and location settles in one pass, with hours attributed to the right place.
Defensible numbers
Pay traces back to the exact clock-in record behind it, so a query has an answer instead of an argument.
An accountant who isn't fighting you
A predictable export, every period, in a layout they don't have to rebuild.
FAQ
Questions people ask
How does GetUp calculate payroll from timesheets?
It reads the approved clock-in and clock-out times captured on the tablet, applies each employee's pay rate plus their overtime and break rules, and totals the period. Because it works from the real recorded times rather than hand-entered hours, the calculation matches what was actually worked.
Can it run payroll across multiple companies and locations?
Yes. A single payroll run can span several legal entities and locations at once, attributing each person's hours to the site and company where they worked. You don't run a separate pass per business or maintain a spreadsheet for each.
Does it handle overtime automatically?
Overtime and break rules live on each employee's record and on each location, and payroll applies them as it totals hours. Overtime that the schedule and clock already flagged is reflected in the pay calculation rather than caught manually afterwards.
What does my accountant receive?
A consistent export in the same structure each period. You can send it to them, or invite your external accountant into GetUp with scoped access so they pull the figures and the underlying detail themselves — at no extra seat cost.
Is this full statutory payroll with tax filing?
GetUp computes gross hourly pay from real attendance and produces exports for your accountant or payroll provider to finalise filings and statutory deductions. It removes the manual hours-to-pay step; it doesn't replace your accountant's filing.
